I work with adults, ages 18+. I work with individuals, couples, and families (adult children with their parents, siblings, relatives, friends, or people with whom you have built an important relationship with).When I see individual clients, I am open to offering sessions with partners and/or family members when therapeutically relevant or beneficial to the client’s progress in therapy.
How do I know if I really need therapy?
You don’t have to feel in “crisis” to start therapy. My personal belief is that all of us could benefit from therapy at various points in our life. How do I know if my partner and I really need couples therapy?
It’s important to know you don’t have to feel in “crisis” to start therapy. It’s never too early to seek professional help to strengthen your relationship. I think many couples wait too long to start therapy. When you experience an unhelpful repetitive patterns of interaction to break, the sooner you start counseling, the less challenging it may feel for you and your partner to overcome your habitual cycle. During the initial session, I spend time reviewing your history and assessing your mental health for any risk factors.
