Every member of our care team practices Gentle Handling, which means we focus on your pet’s emotional as well as physical health. We watch closely for signs of fear, stress, or anxiety, and adjust how we care to help them feel safe and supported.
What does Gentle Handling mean in practice?
Gentle Handling means identifying and avoiding the moments that cause pets the most stress. For example, you’ll go straight to the exam room, instead of waiting in a stressful lobby, and you’ll stay by your pet’s side the entire time, or as much as possible. We also use high-value treats instead of restraints, helping your dog or cat stay comfortable and relaxed during their exam, vaccine or blood draw.
