What is wood-fired/oak roasted coffee?
Coffee that has been roasted the traditional way: over a real wood fire. At Summer Moon, we roast our coffee over Texas oak in hand-crafted roasters that we built ourselves, brick by brick.
Is there a difference between your coffee and coffee from a modern gas-fired roaster?
Our wood-fired coffee roasting process results in greater body and lower acidity, which translates to a rich, smooth, balanced coffee on your palate.
How long does my coffee stay fresh?
We recommend enjoying within 3–4 weeks (2–3 for ground) of the roast date. The date can be found on the bottom of the bag.
What’s the best way to store my coffee?
Your coffee can be stored in the bag it came in! Just seal the bag and then expel the air. Our bags have a one-way valve that allows coffee to degas but prevents oxygen from entering. Do not store in the refrigerator or freezer.
When should I grind my coffee?
For peak flavor, grind your beans just before brewing. Pre-ground coffee, especially when exposed to air, can quickly lose its freshness and become stale, affecting the quality of the final cup.
