About Us – Knapp Medical Center is a not-for-profit, acute care hospital, and a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity. Located in South Texas we provide exceptional healthcare services to residents of the Rio Grande Valley. Located in Weslaco, Knapp works hard to provide state-of-the-art technology, progressive diagnostic and treatment options, and patient-focused care.

Serving the Mid-Valley since 1962, Knapp Medical Center provides patients with the latest diagnostic services and advanced treatment technology, at a convenient location, close to home in the Mid-Valley.
Emergency Care
When a person needs emergency care, it is extremely important to call 911 immediately, without delay. Knapp Medical Center’s Emergency Department provides life-saving emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a safe environment. Knapp’s ER is the only one in the Mid-Valley which has on-site backup from an acute care hospital, including on-site intensive care and surgery. And Knapp is the only Level III Trauma Center and Advanced Primary Stroke Center in the Mid-Valley.

Knapp Medical Center features state-of-the-art technology and an excellent, caring staff including board-certified surgical technicians and licensed surgical assistants.
