How long does treatment last?
Clients commit to at least 12 sessions if we find we are a good fit after the initial appointment. We check in on progress weekly and will reevaluate our therapeutic goals each month. Couples we work with show marked improvement when committing to an intentional treatment plan. At the end of 12 weeks, we will assess progress and move towards termination of therapy, formulating a maintenance plan, setting additional goals, or exploring your specific needs and obtaining a referral for the treatmen
How does therapy progress?
Most clients start to feel better quickly, after attending just a few sessions. Others find the beginning stages of therapy difficult as we’ve lifted the proverbial rug that you’ve swept all your stuff under and now we’re sitting in the mess. If things aren’t progressing by sessions 5 or 6, we’ll explore what’s been helpful and not helpful and adjust the strategy for treatment. How long is a session and how often will we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes and scheduled weekly for the first 12 weeks. Weekly sessions are important for accountability and motivation to meet goals efficiently and purposefully. After that, clients often decrease frequency of sessions or move towards termination.
